The object of this Order is to bring Schedule 1 to the State Authorities Superannuation Act 1987 up to date. The Schedule lists organisations and bodies that are employers for the purposes of the Act and as such are required to make superannuation contributions to the State Authorities superannuation Fund in respect of certain of their employees.

The amendments:

(a) reflect the current names or descriptions of employers; and
(b) add the names of certain other employers; and
(c) remove the names of certain employers that no longer exist.

Section 46 of the Act authorises the Governor-in-council, by order, to amend the Schedule for such purposes. Where appropriate, the Order will have retrospective effect from the date on which the relevant change or addition occurred or took effect. (Subsection (2) of the section authorises an order to be made so that it has effect retrospectively.)
