TX7HEREAS in the year one thousand nine hundred VV and twenty-eight, the freehold land described in the Schedule to this Act was, by Nomination of Trustees registered in the office of the Registrar of Titles at Brisbane as Number A64872, transferred to and vested in and held by Trustees on Trusts whereby it was provided that the said land be appropriated and used by the body known as “ The Stanthorpe Soldiers Club ” : A nd W hereas after the execution of the aforementioned Nomination of Trustees, The Stanthorpe Sub-Branch of The Returned Sailors, Soldiers and Airmen’s Imperial League of Australia, Queensland Branch, erected on the said land Club Rooms : A nd W hereas the Stanthorpe Sub-Branch aforesaid has since and recently expended further large sums of money in improving and extending the said Club Rooms and in furnishing the same : A nd W hereas The Stanthorpe Soldiers Club and the said Sub-Branch are now desirous that the said land together with the improvements thereon and all other property of the said club be transferred to the said Sub-Branch : A nd W hereas it is desirable to effect such transfer :
1954. BUILDINGS. Stanthorpe Soldiers Club Transfer Act. 505 Be it therefore enacted by the Queen’s Most Excellent Majesty, by and with the advice and consent of the Legislative Assembly of Queensland in Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows :— 1. This Act may be cited as The Stanthorpe short title. Soldiers Club Transfer Act of 1954.” 2. (1.) Upon the passing of this Act, the freehold Property of land described in the Schedule to this Act and all other stanthorpe property of The Stanthorpe Soldiers Club shall, as from Soldiers ciub the date of such passing, by virtue of this Act, without to^hT^ any transfer, conveyance, or assignment, except as stanthorpe otherwise provided in this section, he divested from the ^heranch Trustees of the same and the objects of the Trust created Returned in respect thereof, and vest in The Stanthorpe Sub-Branch soldiers and of The Returned Sailors, Soldiers and Airmen’s Imperial Airmen’s League of Australia, Queensland Branch, upon the£“*^£f Trusts for which the said Suh-Branch may hold lands Australia, and other property under and subject to the constitution, rules, and by-laws of the said League, but absolutely freed and discharged from the Trusts upon and subject to which the said lands and other property have heretofore been held. (2.) The surviving Trustees under the said Nomination of Trustees of the land described in the Schedule to this Act may (and are hereby authorised to) by a Nomination of Trustees duly made and executed in accordance with the provisions of *“ The Real Property Acts , 1861 to 1952,” transfer to Trustees of The Stanthorpe Sub-Branch of The Returned Sailors, Soldiers and Airmen’s Imperial League of Australia, Queensland Branch, the estate in fee-simple in the said land to be held by such lastmentioned Trustees upon the Trusts for which that Sub-Branch may hold lands and other property under and subject to the constitution, rules, and by-laws of the said League, but absolutely freed and discharged from the Trusts upon and subject to which that land has heretofore been held. 3. Any property which is vested in the said 1?xt’?]ti.1Ig Sub-Branch or Trustees for the same by virtue of this ia 11 ies‘ Act shall be so vested subject to any debt, liability, or obligation specially charged on or affecting the same. * 25 V. No. 49, On and after the date of the passing of this Act neither The Stanthorpe Soldiers Club nor the Trustees therefor of the said land and premises shall he subject to any liability in respect of any debt, liability or obligation hereinbefore in this section mentioned, but every such liability shall, on and after such date, be imposed on and discharged by the said Sub-Branch. schedule . All that piece or parcel of land situated in the County of Bentinck, Parish and Town of Stanthorpe, described as Subdivision 1 of Allotment 5 of Section 6, containing an area of 34 perches and 2/10ths of a perch (be the same a little more or less) being the whole of the land contained in Certificate of Title Number 326295 Volume 1753 Folio 35. 3 NEO l . iz 4. 9I. [A ssented to 10 th D ecember , 1954.] E E it enacted by the Queen’s Most Excellent Majesty, by and with the advice and consent of the Legis­ lative Assembly of Queensland in Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:— Short title and 1. This Act may be cited as The Trades and construction Labour Hall Management Act Amendment Act of 1954,” and shall be read as one with *“ The Trades and Labour Hall Management Act of 1934,” herein referred to as the Principal Act. Collective title. The Principal Act and this Act may be collectively cited as “ The Trades and Labour Hall Management Acts, 1934 to 1954.” * 25 G. 5 No. 22.
