Standard Time Amendment (Co-ordinated Universal Time) Act 2005

An Act to amend the Standard Time Act 1895

Be it enacted by His Excellency the Governor of Tasmania, by and with the advice and consent of the Legislative Council and House of Assembly, in Parliament assembled, as follows:

1Short titleThis Act may be cited as the Standard Time Amendment (Co-ordinated Universal Time) Act 2005 . 2CommencementThis Act is taken to have commenced on 1 September 2005. 3Principal ActIn this Act, the Standard Time Act 1895 is referred to as the Principal Act. 4Section 3 substituted Section 3 of the Principal Act is repealed and the following sections are substituted: 2AInterpretation In this Act – Co-ordinated Universal Time means Co-ordinated Universal Time (UTC) as determined by the International Bureau of Weights and Measures and maintained under section 8AA of the National Measurement Act 1960 of the Commonwealth. 3Standard time throughout Tasmania Standard time throughout Tasmania is 10 hours in advance of Co-ordinated Universal Time. 5Transitional provisionThe amendments made to the Principal Act by this Act apply to any Act, proclamation, order, rule, regulation or by-law, or deed or any other instrument, even though the Act, proclamation, order, rule, regulation, by-law, deed or other instrument was made before the commencement of this Act.
