1Name of Act

This Act is the Standard Time Amendment Act 1999.

2Commencement

This Act commences on the date of assent.

3Amendment of Standard Time Act 1987 No 149(1)

The definition of summer time period in section 2 of the Standard Time Act 1987 is taken, but only for the summer time period commencing in the year 2000, to be as follows:

summer time period means a period starting at 2 am on Sunday 27 August 2000 and ending at 2 am on Sunday 25 March 2001.

This section has effect despite the definition of summer time period in section 2 of the Standard Time Act 1987 but is otherwise to be read and construed as if it formed part of the Standard Time Act 1987.

4Expiry of Act

This Act ceases to have effect on 26 March 2001.
