An Act to amend the S tandard T ime Act of

1894. [23rd July, 1896.]

WH E R E AS 1891 on account of t he conflicting in teres t in t he Barr ie r
it is expedient to a m e n d t h e S tandard T ime A c t oC
Dis t r ic t in N e w South wales :  Be it therefore enacted by the Queen ' s

M o s t Exce l l en t Majes ty , by and wi th t he advice and consent of t h e Legis la t ive Counci l and Legislative Assembly of N e w South Wales in Pa r l i amen t assembled, and by the au thor i ty of t he same, as follows :—

1. This Ac t may be cited as t he " S tandard Time Ac t A m e n d ­

m e n t A c t of 189G."

2. On the commencemen t of th is A c t t he S tandard Time A c t

of 1S94 shall no t apply wi th in t h e Mun ic ipa l Distr ict of Broken H i l l
nor wi th in t he Electora l Dis t r ic t of S tu r t in respect of—

(«) sections twenty- four , twenty-s ix , and s ix ty- three of the Licensing A c t of 1S82, and such other provisions of the Licensing Acts , 1882-1883 , as relate to t he hours be tween which licensees m a y keep the i r premises open for t he sale of l iquor, sell and dispose of l iquor, and pe rmi t l iquor to be d r u n k or consumed on their premises ;

(b) sections two and three of the Billiard and Bagatelle Licensing
A c t of 1 8 8 2 ;

(c)

section seventy-nine of the Parliamentary Electorates and Elec t ions Act of 1893, and section five of the Munic ipal i t ies A c t of 1867 A m e n d m e n t Ac t of 1888, and such other provisions of t h e said Acts as re la te to t h e hours a t which t he pol l ing or vot ing a t elections shall commence and close.

3 . T h e m e a n t ime of the one h u n d r e d and thirty-fif th mer id ian

of longi tude east of Greenwich in E n g l a n d shal l be deemed and is hereby declared to be t he S tandard Time for t he said Munic ipa l and Electora l Distr ic ts in respect of t he enac tmen t s referred to in t he last p receding section b u t n o t fur ther or otherwise.
