AN ACT to alter the Act to impose a Duty on the Transfer

of Landed Property.

[Assented to, 8th July, 1873.]

HEREAS by an Act passed in the session of the Legislative

Council held in the 4th and 5th years of the reign of Her

Majesty intituled " An Act to impose a duty upon the Transfer of

Landed Property " reciting that it was expedient that a duty should

be imposed upon the Transfer of Landed Property for the purpose

mechanics and artizans into the Colony it is by the tenth section 1841'

such arrangements as the Governor with the advice and consent of the Legislative Council shall from time to time by law appoint; And whereas it is expedient to alter the said Act as hereinafter provided: Be it therefore enacted by His Excellency the Governor of Western Australia and its Dependencies by and with the advice and consent of the Legislative Council thereof as follows:—

Transfer Duties to be paid

1 ALL sums of money received by the Registrar of Deeds as and forfeitures recovered thereunder shall after deducting the expenses of prosecution and of rewarding the party or parties informing be paid over to the Colonial Treasurer for the use of Her Majesty her heirs and successors for the public use of the said Colony and in support of the Government thereof and not for the purpose mentioned and set forth in the said tenth section of the said recited Act.
