AN ACT to amend the Stamp Act, 1921-1971.

BE it enacted by the Queen's Most Excellent Majesty, by and with the advice and consent of the Legislative Council and the Legislative Assembly of Western Australia, in this present Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:—

as to the item headed "BILL OF EXCHANGE OR PROMISSORY NOTE" and the item headed "CHEQUE or ORDER payable on demand" respectively by sub- stituting for the passage "0.05" denoting five cents under the column headed "Stamp Duty Payable" opposite the word "demand" being the last word in the items, the passage "0.06"; and

(b)

as to the item headed "CONVEYANCE or TRANSFER on sale of property—"—

(i)    by substituting for the passage "0.10" denoting ten cents under the column headed "Stamp Duty Payable" opposite the passage "$25" in para- graph (3) of that item the passage "0.15";

(ii)    by substituting for the passage "0.40" denoting forty cents under the column headed "Stamp Duty Pay- able" opposite the passage 1100" in paragraph (3) of that item the passage "0.60";

(iii) by repealing and re-enacting sub- paragraphs (i) and (ii) of paragraph (3a) as follows-
