307 tteensl ANNO VICESIMO ELIZABETHAE SECUNDAE REGINAE No. 15 of 1971 An Act to Amend the StampAct 1894-1970 in a certain particular [ASSENTED TO 19TH APRIL, 1971] BE IT ENACTED by the Queen's Most Excellent Majesty, by and with the advice and consent of the Legislative Assembly of Queensland in Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:- 1. Short title and citation . (1) This Act may be cited as the Stamp Act Amendment Act 1971. (2) The Stamp Act 1894-1970 is in this Act referred to as the Principal Act. (3) The Principal Act as amended by this Act may be cited as the Stamp Act1894-1971. 2. Amendment of s. 35. Credit and Rental Business . (1) Subsection (1) of section 35 of the Principal Act is amended by inserting in the interpretation of the expression " Credit business ", at the end of that interpretation, the following expression:- "or (c) the business of making loans to its members of a credit union that is a society of that class formed and registered under The Co-operative and Other Societies Act of 1967 or having status, operation and effect under that Act ".

308 Stamp Act Amendment Act 1971, No. 15 (2) The provisions of the Stamp Act1894-1971 apply in relation to any loan, credit arrangement, discount transaction or credit business (within the meaning of those expressions as defined by section 35 of the Principal Act) made, entered into or transacted prior to the date of commencement of this Act as i f the amendment made to the Principal Act by this section had not been made and in relation to such matters section 35 of the Stamp Act1894-1971 shall be read and construed accordingly.
