AN ACT to further amend the Stamp Act, 1882, and to amend the Stamp Act Amend- ment Act, 1905.

[Assented to 18th September, 1906.]

and Legislative Assembly of Western Australia, in this presentBE it enacted by the King's Most Excellent Majesty, by and

with the advice and consent of the Legislative Council Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows :-

1.     This Act may be cited as the Stamp Act Amendment Act, 1906. Short title.

2.      The Schedule to the Stamp Act Amendment Act, 1905, is Amendment of

Schedule to Act

hereby amended, as follows :—

NO. 20 of MA.

(a.)

Under the heading " Affidavit or Declaration made under

Statute," a paragraph is inserted, as follows :—

(6.) Of any other kind which the Governor may exempt, by proclamation published in the

Government Gazette.

(b.) Under the heading " Bill of Lading or Shipping Receipt,"

the words " to be exported" are omitted, and a paragraph

is inserted as follows :—

Receipt of master or mate, coastwise, taken

in lieu of bill of lading :

For goods not exceeding half a ton

(c.) Under the heading " Conveyance or Transfer," after the word " property," the following words are inserted:- (" except any scrip or shares of any incorporated mining company carrying on the business of mining within the State "); and after hue six a paragraph is inserted, as follows:—

(d.) Under the heading " Mortgage, Bond. Debenture, etc.,"

paragraph three is struck out, and the following is inserted in lieu thereof

Paragraphs four and five are numbered five and six

respectively, and paragraph six is struck out.

(e.) Under the heading " Policy of Insurance on any vessel," all the words and figures from the word " Policy " to " and see sections sixty-seven to sixty-nine." inclusive, are struck out.

Under the heading " Receipt paragraph (8) is struck

out, and the following paragraphs are inserted :—

Receipt given by any registered friendly society, lodge, or branch for ally money paid to such society, lodge, or branch by any of its members, or by any other society, or any lodge or branch.

Receipt given to any registered friendly society for any money paid by such society to any of its members, or to any person claiming under any of its members.
