1Name of regulation

This regulation is the Sporting Venues (Invasions) Regulation 2024.

2Commencement

This regulation commences on the day on which it is published on the NSW legislation website.

Note—

This regulation repeals and replaces the Sporting Venues (Invasions) Regulation 2016, which would otherwise be repealed on 1 September 2024 by the Subordinate Legislation Act 1989, section 10(2).

3Definition

In this regulation—

the Act means the Sporting Venues (Invasions) Act 2003.

Note—

The Act and the Interpretation Act 1987 contain definitions and other provisions that affect the interpretation and application of this regulation.

4Designated sporting venues(1)

For the Act, section 3, definition of designated sporting venue, the following are prescribed—

  • (a)

    the venues listed in Schedule 1, Part 1,

  • (b)

    a venue listed in Schedule 1, Part 2, Column 1 when the venue is being used for a sporting activity by a team listed in Column 2.

To avoid doubt, if a venue listed in Schedule 1 is renamed or is known by more than 1 name—

  • (a)

    the reference to the venue in the schedule is taken to include the new or additional name for the venue, and

  • (b)

    subsection (1) continues to apply to the venue.

5Repeal and savings(1)

The Sporting Venues (Invasions) Regulation 2016 is repealed.

(2)

An act, matter or thing that, immediately before the repeal of the Sporting Venues (Invasions) Regulation 2016, had effect under that regulation continues to have effect under this regulation.
