The Australian Fisheries Management Authority makes the following determination in accordance with a decision made by the Commissioners under section 23 of the Fisheries Administration Act 1991.

1 Name
This instrument is the Southern Squid Jig Fishery (Total Allowable Effort) Determination 2020.
2 Commencement
This instrument commences on 1 January 2021.
3 Cessation
This instrument ceases on 1 January 2022.
4 Authority
This instrument is made under paragraph 17(6)(aa) of the Fisheries Management Act 1991 for the purpose of section 11 of the Southern Squid Jig Fishery Management Plan 2005 (the Plan).
5 Definitions
Any term used in this instrument that is defined for the purposes of the Plan has the same meaning in this instrument as it has in the Plan.
Note: Terms defined in the Fisheries Management Act 1991 have the same meanings in this Determination
6 Determination of total allowable effort
(1) The total allowable effort for the Southern Squid Jig Fishery for the 2021 fishing year, commencing on 1 January 2021 and ending on 31 December 2021 (inclusive), is 550 standard squid jigging machines.
