The Australian Fisheries Management Authority makes the following determination in accordance with a decision made by the Commissioners under section 23 of the Fisheries Administration Act 1991.

1 Name
This instrument is the Southern Squid Jig Fishery (Total Allowable Effort) Determination 2019.
2 Commencement
This instrument commences on 1 January 2020.
3 Cessation
This instrument is repealed on 1 January 2021 unless earlier revoked.
4. Authority
This instrument is made pursuant to paragraph 17(6)(aa) of the Act and section 11 of the Management Plan.
5 Definitions
(1) In this instrument:
Act means the Fisheries Management Act 1991.
Management Plan means the Southern Squid Jig Fishery Management Plan 2005.
(2) A term used in this instrument that is defined for the purposes of the Management Plan has the same meaning in this instrument as it has in the Management Plan.
Note: Terms defined in the Act have the same meaning in this instrument (see paragraph 13(1)(b) of the Legislation Act 2003).
6 Determination of total allowable effort
(1) The total allowable effort for the fishery for the 2020 fishing year, commencing on 1 January 2020 and ending on 31 December 2020 (inclusive), is 550 standard squid jigging machines.
