I, Rear Admiral PETER ROSS SINCLAIR, A.C., Governor of the State

of New South Wales, with the advice of the Executive Council, and in pursuance of section 2 of the Southern Cross University Act 1993, do, by this my Proclamation, appoint 1 January 1994 as the day on which that Act (except section 10) commences.

EXPLANATORY NOTE

The object of this Proclamation is to commence all provisions of the Southern Cross University Act 1993 except section 10. That section provides for the composition of the Council of the University. Under the savings and transitional provisions contained in the Act, the Minister is to appoint an interim Council while necessary steps are taken and by-laws made to enable the appointment of the Council and the commencement of section 10.
