An Act to authorise the Construction of a Railway from

Southern Cross to Coolgardie.

[Assented to 23rd November, 1894.

BE it enacted by the Queen's Most Excellent Majesty, by and with Preamble

the advice and consent of the Legislative Council and Legislative Ainmided by

Assembly of Western Australia, in this present Parliament assembled, so Vie., No. 21

and by the authority of the same, as follows :-

1. This Act may be cited as The Southern Cross-Coolgardie Short title

Railway Act, 1894.'

2. It shall be lawful to construct and maintain a railway from Authority tom

Southern Cross to Coolgardie, with all necessary, proper, and usual works and conveniences in connection therewith, in the line described in the Schedule to this Act.

3. Notwithstanding anything contained in The Railways Act, Deviation

1878,' it shall be lawful for the Commissioner of Railways to deviate from the line as described in such Schedule to the extent of ten miles on either side thereof.

SCHEDULE

SOUTHERN CROSS—COOLGARDIE RAILWAY

Description of Line of Railway

Commencing at or near a point at the termination of the Yilgarn Railway, in the Southern Cross Station thereof, and proceeding thence in a south-east by easterly direction for about 20 miles ; thence in a generally east by northerly direction for about 55 miles ; thence in an east-north-easterly direction for about 40 miles, and terminating at a point in or near Coolgardie Townsite, as more particularly delineated by a red line on map marked P.W.D., WA., No. 3132, deposited at the Office of the Commissioner of Railways, at Perth. Total length about 115 miles.
