2012 -13 SOUTHERN BLUEFIN TUNA AUSTRALIA’S NATIONAL CATCH ALLOCATION DETERMINATION

The AUSTRALIAN FISHERIES MANAGEMENT AUTHORITY makes the following Determination pursuant to section 17(6)(aa) of the Fisheries Management Act 1991 under subclause 17.2A of the Southern Bluefin Tuna Fishery Management Plan 1995.

Citation

1.   This Determination may be cited as the 2012-13 Southern Bluefin Tuna Australia’s National Catch Allocation Determination.

Commencement

2.   This Determination commences on the day after it is registered on the Federal Register of Legislative Instruments.

Interpretation

3.   A term used in this Determination that is defined for the purposes of the Southern Bluefin Tuna Fishery Management Plan 1995 has the same meaning in this Determination as it has in that Plan.

Notes:             1.    Terms defined in the Fisheries Management Act 1991 have the same meanings in this Determination.

2.   Terms defined in the Southern Bluefin Tuna Fishery Management Plan include "Southern Bluefin Tuna Fishery”.

Determination of Australia’s national catch allocation

4.   Australia’s national catch allocation for the season in the Southern Bluefin Tuna Fishery which will commence on:

§1 December 2011 and which will end on 30 November 2012 is 4,528,000 kilograms; and

§1 December 2012 and which will end on 30 November 2013 is 4,698,000 kilograms.
