Southern Bluefin Tuna Fishery (Fishing Season) Determination 2018

The Australian Fisheries Management Authority makes the following determination in accordance with a decision made by the Commissioners under section 23 of the Fisheries Administration Act 1991.

1  Name

This instrument may be cited as the Southern Bluefin Tuna Fishery (Fishing Season) Determination 2018.

2  Commencement

This instrument commences on 1 December 2018.

3  Revocation

This instrument is revoked on 1 December 2020. 

4  Authority

This instrument is made under parargraph 17(6)(aa) of the Fisheries Management Act 1991 under subsection 3.1 of the Southern Bluefin Tuna Fishery Management Plan 1995.

5  Definitions

A term used in this instrument that is defined for the purposes of the Southern Bluefin Tuna Fishery Management Plan 1995 (the Plan) has the same meaning in this instrument as it has in that Plan.

Note:          Terms defined in the Fisheries Management Act 1991 have the same meaning in this instrument. 

6  Determination of fishing seasons

The fishing seasons in the Southern Bluefin Tuna Fishery are determined to be the periods:

(a)  commencing 1 December 2018 and ending on 30 November 2019; and

(b)  commencing 1 December 2019 and ending on 30 November 2020.
