SOUTH-WEST TABLELANDS WATER SUPPLY ADMINISTRATION ACT 1941—REGULATION

(Relating to the price of water)

HIS Excellency the Governor, with the advice of the Executive Council, and in pursuance of the South-west Tablelands Water Supply Administration Act 1941, has been pleased to make the Regulation set forth hereunder.

The South-west Tablelands Water Supply Administration (Price of

Water) Regulation 1983 is amended:

(a) by inserting at the end of clause 2 the following subclause:

(2) This clause does not apply to a year for which a different

rate is in force under another provision of this Regulation.

(b) by inserting at the end of clause 3 the following subclause:

(2) This clause does not apply to a year for which a different

minimum is in force under another provision of this Regulation.

(c) by inserting after clause 3 the following clause:

Price of water for 1993
4. (1) The price to be paid by a council for water supplied to the

council by the Administrator in the year commencing on 1 January 1993 is to be the amount calculated at the following rate:

$6.43 per kilolitre for the first Q kilolitres of water supplied during that year and $0.50 per kilolitre for each kilolitre supplied in excess of the first Q kilolitres supplied, plus an additional $0.50 per kilolitre for each kilolitre supplied during a week in excess of the fist Q killolitres supplied during that week.

(2) For the purposes of the calculation under subclause (1),

“Q” is:

• 192,000 for Northern Riverina County Council
• 50,000 for Cootamundra Shire Council
• 68,000 for Young Shire Council
• 39,000 for Harden Shire Council
• 3,100 for Southern Riverina County Council.

(3) The minimum amount to be paid by a council for water supplied to the council by the Administrator in the year commencing on 1 January 1993 is:

• $1,234,560 for Northern Riverina County Council
• $321,500 for Cootamundra Shire Council
• $437,240 for Young Shire Council
• $250,770 for Harden Shire Council

• $19,933 for Southern Riverina County Council.

EXPLANATORY NOTE

The object of this Regulation is to alter the rate at which water supplied to councils from the South-west Tablelands Water Supply works is chargeable and to alter the minimum amount payable by the councils for water supplied to them. The current price is 84 cents per kilolitre and the minimum amount payable is $1.

The Regulation is made under section 8A of the South-west Tablelands Water

Supply Administration Act 1941.
