SUG~ WtRKS ACTS [ASSENTED TO 6TH DECEMBER, 1945.] fc~ ~ ~~ ~ _ B E it enacted by the King's Most Excellent Majesty, by and with the advice and consent of the Legis- lative Assembly of Queensland in Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:- 1. (1.) This Act may be cited as "The South Short title J ohnstone, Gin Gin, N arth Eton, and Mount Bauple Sugar :!truction. Warks Acts Amendment Act of 1945," and shall be read as one with *" The South Johnstone, Gin Gin, North Eton, and Mount Bauple Sugar Warks Acts, 1927 to 1937," herein collectively referred to as the Principal Act. -(2.) The Principal Act and this Act may collectivelY~ llective be cited as " The South J ohnstone, Gin Gin, N arth Eton, tItle. and Mount Bauple Sugar Warks Acts, 1927 to 1945." Amendments of the Principal Act. 2. Section four of the Principal Act is amended as Ani.endment follows :_ of B. 4. (i.) Paragraph (f> is repealed. (ii.) Paragraph (h) is repealed and a new paragraph (h) is inserted in lieu thereof, namely:- "(h) When the whole of the liability to theTransferby Treasurer with interest thereon, of the association referred~ rporation to in this section four shall have been liquidated aSsssoQiation. prescribed by this Act, it shall be lawful for the Corpora- tion to transfer and the Corporation shall transfer to such association all the right, title and interest of the Corporation in the South J ohnstone Sugar Works. Upon the execution of such transfer such sugar works shall be divested from the Corporation and shall vest in such association, and by virtue of this Act all the liabilities and obligations of the Corporation in respect of or otherwise in relation to such sugar works shall.be borne and discharged by such association." * 18 G. 5 No. 26 and amending Acts, v. 10, p. 317 et seq.

Subsection two is amended by repealing the second and third paragraphs thereof, beginning with the word "Moreover" and ending with the words "the Treasurer." (ii.) In the fourth paragraph of the said subsection two, the words "the South J ohnstone Co-operative Sugar Milling Association Limited" are inserted after the words "Moreover, in the case of default by" occurring at the commencement of the said paragraph. (iii.) In the fifth paragraph of the said subsection the words "such three last-mentioned associations" are repealed and the words "the said associations" are inserted in lieu thereof. Operation of 4.
