s1 2 s5 Solicitors’ Admission Amendment (No. 1) No. 51, 1998 ˙ Short title 1. This rule may be cited as the Solicitors’ Admission Amendment Rule (No. 1) 1998 . ˙ Commencement 2. This rule commences on 1 April 1998. ˙ Rule amended 3. This rule amends the Solicitors’ Admission Rules 1968 . ˙ Amendment of r 67 (Admission to practise) 4. Rule 67(b), ‘Rockhampton or Townsville’— omit, insert— ‘Rockhampton, Townsville or Cairns’. ˙ Amendment of r 68 (Application for admission) 5.(1) Rule 68(1)(a)(i)(B), from ‘in Rockhampton’— omit, insert— ‘in Rockhampton, Townsville or Cairns—in the office of the registrar at Rockhampton, Townsville or Cairns; and’. (2) Rule 68(1)(b)(iii)— omit, insert— ‘(iii) for an application for admission in Rockhampton, Townsville or Cairns—once in a daily newspaper published and circulating in the relevant city;’. (3) Rule 68(4)(b)— omit, insert— ‘(b) file in the Supreme Court at Brisbane, Rockhampton, Townsville or Cairns, an affidavit declaring the extent of the person’s compliance with these rules; and’.
