Social Workers Registration (Commencement) Amendment Act 2023

An Act to amend the Social Workers Registration Act 2021.

The Parliament of South Australia enacts as follows:

Part 1Preliminary1Short title

This Act may be cited as the Social Workers Registration (Commencement) Amendment Act 2023.

Part 2Amendment of Social Workers Registration Act 20212Substitution of section 2

Section 2—delete section 2 and substitute:

2—Commencement

1. (1)

   This Act comes into operation—

   1. (a)

      if a day falling before 1 July 2025 is fixed by proclamation—on the day fixed by the proclamation; or

   2. (b)

      in any other case—on 1 July 2025.

2. (2)

   Section 27(6) of the Legislation Interpretation Act 2021 does not apply to this Act or a provision of this Act.

3Amendment of section 68 – Regulations and fee notices

Section 68(2)(e)—after "nature" insert:

consequent on the enactment of this Act or the Social Workers Registration (Commencement) Amendment Act 2023
