1  Name

This instrument is the Social Security (Self-Employment Assistance) Determination 2022.

2  Commencement

(1)  Each provision of this instrument specified in column 1 of the table commences, or is taken to have commenced, in accordance with column 2 of the table. Any other statement in column 2 has effect according to its terms.

1. The whole of this instrument.	The later of the following: (a) immediately after commencement of Schedule 2 to the Social Security Legislation Amendment (Streamlined Participation Requirements and Other Measures) Act 2022; (b) the day after registration.

Note:          This table relates only to the provisions of this instrument as originally made. It will not be amended to deal with any later amendments of this instrument.

3  Authority

This instrument is made under subsection 1062A(2) of the Social Security Act 1991.

4  Activity

For the purposes of paragraph 1062A(1)(l) of the Social Security Act 1991, the Self-Employment Assistance program is determined as an activity.

Note: Subsection 1062A(1) of the Social Security Act 1991 enables the Employment Secretary, on behalf of the Commonwealth, to make, vary or administer an arrangement for the making of payments in relation to a range of purposes listed in that provision or in relation to an activity prescribed in a legislative instrument for the purposes of paragraph 1062A(1)(l).
