  1. Name of determination

This instrument is the Social Security (Personal Care Support ­– Direct        Consumer Funding) Determination 2017.

  1. Commencement

(1)        Each provision of this instrument specified in column 1 of the          table commences, or is taken to have commenced, in             accordance with column 2 of the table. Any other statement in        column 2 has effect according to its terms.

  1. Authority

This instrument is made under section 35A of the Social Security Act 1991.

  1. Revocation

This instrument revokes the Social Security (Local Area Coordination Scheme) Determination 2000.

  1. Personal care support scheme

(1)  The scheme for the provision of personal care support known as Direct Consumer Funding is approved for the purposes of section 35A of the Social Security Act 1991.

(2)  In this instrument, Direct Consumer Funding means an agreement by the Northern Territory Department of Health to provide funding through its Individual Support Package to a person with a disability, or on that person’s behalf to their carer, for the payment of support or services by a third party.
