This instrument is the Social Security (Exempt Lump Sum – Government Superannuation Co-Contribution Payments for Low Income Earners) Determination 2017

(1)  Each provision of this instrument specified in column 1 of the table commences, or is taken to have commenced, in accordance with column 2 of the table. Any other statement in column 2 has effect according to its terms.

3   Authority

This instrument is made under paragraph 8(11)(d) of the Social Security Act 1991.

4   Revocation

The following instrument is revoked:

Social Security Exempt Lump Sum Determination No. 1 of 2004 (FACS)

5   Definitions

In this instrument:

Act means the Social Security Act 1991.

Government superannuation co-contribution payment means a co-contribution payable under the Superannuation (Government Co-Contribution For Low Income Earners) Act 2003.

6                      Exempt Lump Sums

For the purposes of paragraph 8(11)(d) of the Act a Government superannuation co-contribution payment is an exempt lump sum.
