I, MALCOLM BLIGH TURNBULL, Prime Minister, make this declaration under subsection 35B(1) of the Social Security Act 1991.

1              Name of declaration

This declaration is the Social Security (Declared Overseas Terrorist Act) Declaration 2015 – Paris.

2              Commencement

This declaration commences on the day after this instrument is registered.

3              Definitions

In this declaration:

Actmeans the Social Security Act 1991.

terrorist act has the same meaning as in subsection 100.1(1) of the Criminal Code.

4              Declared overseas terrorist act

For the purposes of subsection 35B(1) of the Act, the following terrorist acts are declared overseas terrorist acts:

(1)the suicide bombings by three persons at the Stade de France, 93216, Saint-Denis, Paris, on 13 November 2015 at the following locations:

a.outside Gate D on Rue Rimet

b.outside Gate H on Rue Rimet

c.on Rue de la Cokerie, in front of the McDonald’s, approximately 450 metres from the stadium;

(2)the shootings and suicide bombings occurring on 13 November 2015 at the following locations:

a.le Carillon Restaurant and le Petit Cambodge restaurant, corner of Rue Alibert and Rue Bichat, 75010, Paris

b.la Casa Nostra restaurant, corner of Rue de la Fontaine au Roi and Rue de la Folie Mericourt, 75011, and Café la Bonne Bière, corner of Rue de la Fontaine au Roi and Rue Faubourg du Temple, 75010, Paris

c.la Belle Equipe restaurant, 92 Rue de Charonne, 75011, Paris

d.le Comptoir Voltaire cafe, 253 Boulevard Voltaire, Paris;

(3)the shooting in Rue Oberkampf, Paris, on 13 November 2015 and the shooting and hostage siege at the Bataclan Concert Hall, 50 Boulevard Voltaire, 75011, Paris on 13 and 14 November 2015.
