1  Name

This instrument is the Social Security (Class of Visas – Newly Arrived Resident’s Waiting Period for Carer Payment) Determination 2017.

2  Commencement

This Determination commences on 1 October 2017.

(1)  Each provision of this instrument specified in column 1 of the table commences, or is taken to have commenced, in accordance with column 2 of the table. Any other statement in column 2 has effect according to its terms.

3  Repeal

This Determination is repealed on 1 October 2018.

4  Authority

This instrument is made under subsection 201AA(5B) of the Social Security Act 1991.

5  Class of visas

For the purposes of subsection 201AA(5) of the Social Security Act 1991 the class of visas are:

(a)  subclass 116 (Carer); and

(b)  subclass 836 (Carer).
