Part 1 – Preliminary

1  Name

(1)This instrument is the Social Security (Australian Government Disaster Recovery Payment—Amount of Payment for Disasters Outside Australia) Determination 2018.

(2)This instrument may be cited as LIN 18/134.

2  Commencement

This instrument commences on the day after it is registered.

3  Authority

This instrument is made under subsections 1061P(4) and (5) of the Act.

4  Schedules

Each instrument that is specified in a Schedule to this instrument is amended or repealed as set out in the applicable items in the Schedule concerned, and any other item in a Schedule to this instrument has effect according to its terms.

5  Definitions

In this instrument:

Act means the Social Security Act 1991.

Part 2 – Amount of payment

6  Amount of payment for paragraph 1061N(a) of the Act—adult

The amount determined under subsection 1061P(4) of the Act is $1000.

7  Amount of payment for paragraph 1061N(b) of the Act—child

The amount determined under subsection 1061P(5) of the Act is $400.
