1  Name

This instrument is the Social Security (Administration) (Excluded Goods – section 123TI) Specification 2020.

2  Commencement

(1)  Each provision of this instrument specified in column 1 of the table commences, or is taken to have commenced, in accordance with column 2 of the table. Any other statement in column 2 has effect according to its terms.

3  Authority

This instrument is made under paragraph 123TI(1)(d) of the Social Security (Administration) Act 1999.

4  Definitions

In this instrument:

Act means the Social Security (Administration) Act 1999.

fermenter means a container that could be used for the purpose of fermentation.

home-brew concentrate means:

(a)    a substance, that includes malt and hops, ordinarily used for brewing beer; or

(b)   wort; or

(c)    grape concentrate ordinarily used for making wine.

home-brew kit means a kit that includes all the following:

(a)    a fermenter;

(b)   an airlock;

(c)    a thermometer.

5  Schedule

Each instrument that is specified in the Schedule to this instrument is repealed as set out in the applicable items in the Schedule, and any other item in the Schedule to this instrument has effect according to its terms.

6  Excluded goods

For paragraph 123TI(1)(d) of the Act, the following goods are specified:

(a)    home-brew concentrate;

(b)   home-brew kits.
