An Act to rcgulate the Slaughtering '

and p~event

the Stcaliug of Cattle " it is enacted " that it shall be Sec* 6,

lawful for His Excellency the Governor from time to time to appoint within such towns or districts or parts of districts as to him shall sccm fit by a nolicr to be published in thc Government Gazette Inspectors of Slaughter-houses and of Brands and of the skins of Slaughtered Cattle: " And whereas it is necessary to provide for the remuneration of such persons a c t i n ~ in exemtion of the said

That from and after the passing hereof it shall be lawful

to levy dues.

for every Inspector aforesaid to levy collect and receive from every party who shall bring any head of Cattle or Stock to be slaughtered to any Public Slaughter-house appointed under the provisions of the

said recited Ordinance the respective dues specified and contained

in the Schedule hereto annexed: Provided always that it shall be lawful for the Governor from time to time as occaiion may require

by Proclamation of His Excellency published in the Government

Gazette to vary and reduce and again to advance the said dues not exceediag the maximum dues specified in the said Schedule and thc said several Inspectors shall at least once in every week make a return of all such dues received by them respectively verified under their respective hands and shall forthwith pay the amount thcrcof to the Colonial Treasurer on behalf of Her Majesty Her Heirs and Successore for the public use of the Province and support of the Government thereof.
