AN ACT to provide for the relief and return be Western Australia of Shipwredked Colonial Seamen.

[ Assented to, 28th July, 1880. ]

HEREAS it is expedient to provide for the relief and return

it enacted by His Excellency the Governor of Western AustraliaWto Western Australia of Shipwrecked Colonial Seamen: Be

and its Dependencies, by and with the advice and consent of the

Legislative Council thereof, as follows :—

I WHENEVER any seaman or apprentice, whose domicil shall Shipwrecked Seamen found

complement; and in default of any such ship shall provide him with a passage to Western Australia as soon as possible in some ship belonging to a subject of Her Majesty so bound as aforesaid, and may cause to be endorsed on the agreement of any ship on board of which any seaman or apprentice is so taken or sent, the name of every person so sent on board thereof, with such particulars con- cerning the case as the Board of Trade or the said Society may require; and the owners of such ship shall be allowed for the subsistence of any such seaman or apprentice such sum per diem as the said Board of Trade or the said Society may appoint; and the amount due in respect of such allowance shall be payable out of the Public Revenue of Western Australia, on the production of the bills of the disbursements, with the proper vouchers.

2 THE short Title of this Act shall be " The Shipwrecked

Colonial Seaman's Act, 1880."
