Renewal and reinstatement of licences —————— ˙ Short title 1. This regulation may be cited as the Sewerage and Water Supply Amendment Regulation 1991 .

2 Sewerage and Water Supply Amendment Regulation 1991 ˙ Amended regulations 2. The Sewerage and Water Supply Regulations 1987 are amended as set out in this regulation. ˙ Name of provision units 3. (1) A provision of the Sewerage and Water Supply Regulations 1987 that was, immediately before the commencement of this section, called a regulation may be called a section. (2) A provision of the Sewerage and Water Supply Regulations 1987 that was, immediately before the commencement of this section, called a subregulation may be called a subsection. (3) A reference in the Sewerage and Water Supply Regulations 1987 to a regulation or subregulation of the regulations designated by a number is a reference to a section or subsection of the regulations designated by that number. ˙ References to a provision of the Act 4. If— (a) there is a reference in the Sewerage and Water Supply Regulations 1987 to a provision of the SewerageandWaterSupply Act 1949 ; and (b) the words ‘of the Act’ or words of similar effect, do not appear at the end of the reference; the Sewerage and Water Supply Regulations 1987 are amended by inserting the words ‘of the Act’ at the end of the reference. ˙ Replacement of s.1 (Short title) 5. Section 1— omit, insert—

3 Sewerage and Water Supply Amendment Regulation 1991 ˙ ‘Short title ‘1. This regulation may be cited as the Sewerage and Water Supply Regulation 1987 . ’. ˙ Amendment of s.12 (Grant of licences) 6. Section 12(1)— omit, insert— ‘(1) Subject to section 13(3), a licence granted, renewed or reinstated by the Board, unless sooner cancelled or suspended, is in force for a period of not more than 12 months. ’. ˙ Replacement of s.13 (Renewal of licences) 7. Section 13— omit, insert— ˙ ‘Renewal and reinstatement of licences ‘13. (1) A licence may be renewed by the Board if— (a) application is received by the Board on or before the day the licence expires; and (b) the application is accompanied by the prescribed renewal fee. ‘(2) An expired licence may be renewed by the Board if— (a) application is received by the Board not later than 14 days from the day on which the licence expired; and (b) the application is accompanied by the prescribed renewal fee. ‘(3) If an expired licence is renewed by the Board under subsection (2), the licence is taken to be in force from the day it expired until the day of renewal. ‘(4) An expired licence may be reinstated if— (a) application is received by the Board not later than 12 months after the day on which the licence expired; and
