1 4 10 Sewerage and Water Supply Act Amendment Act 1985, No. 92 BE IT ENACTED by the Queen's Most Excellent Majesty, by and with the advice and consent of the legislative Assembly of Queensland in Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:- 1. Short title and citation . (1) This Act may be cited as the Sewerage and Water Supply Act Amendment Act 1985. (2) The Sewerage and Water Supply Act 1949-1982 is in this Act referred to as the Principal Act. (3) The Principal Act as amended by this Act may be cited as the Sewerage and Water Supply Act 1949-1985. 2. Commencement . (1) Section 1 and this section shall commence on the day this Act is assented to for and on behalf of Her Majesty. (2) Except as is provided by subsection (1), the provisions of this Act shall commence on a date to be appointed by Proclamation. 3. New s. 12A. The Principal Act is amended by inserting after section 12 the following section:- "12A. (1) On and from the date of commencement of this section, the duration of every licence granted by the Board under this Act, being either a licence in force or a licence that is subject to an order of suspension immediately prior to that date of commencement, shall be for such period as is prescribed and shall expire at the end of that period and may be renewed in the manner prescribed. (2) The duration of a licence granted by the Board under this Act after the date of commencement of this section shall be for such period as is prescribed.". 4. Amendment of s. 17. Section 17 of the Principal Act is amended by- (a) omitting from the second paragraph of subsection (1) the words " "The Official Inquiries Evidence Acts, 1910 to 1929." " and substituting the words "the Commissions of Inquiry Acts, 1950 to 1954."; (b) omitting from the second paragraph of subsection (2) the words "five pounds" and substituting the expression "$10". 5. Amendment of s. 18A . Section 18A of the Principal Act is amended by omitting the words "one hundred pounds" and substituting the expression "$200". 6. Amendment of s. 19 . Regulations . Section 19 of the Principal Act is amended by omitting the words "twenty pounds" from subsection (2) (ix) and substituting the expression "$40". 7. New s. 20 . Proclamations , Orders in Council , and regulations. The Principal Act is amended by repealing section 20 and substituting the following section:- "20. Tabling of Proclamations and Orders in Council . Section 28A of the Acts Interpretation Act 19541977 (Tabling of

Sewerage and Water Supply Act Amendment Act 1985, No. 92 1411 Regulations) shall apply with respect to Proclamations and Orders in Council made for the purposes of this Act as if they were regulations.".
