Serious Sex Offenders (Detention and Supervision) Amendment (Remotely Piloted Aircraft and Helicopter Ban) Regulations 2018

The Governor in Council makes the following Regulations:

1Objective

The objective of these Regulations is to amend the Serious Sex Offenders (Detention and Supervision) Regulations 2009 to prescribe persons who are exempt from the offence under section 141A(1) of the Serious Sex Offenders (Detention and Supervision) Act 2009.

2Authorising provision

These Regulations are made under section 198 of the Serious Sex Offenders (Detention and Supervision) Act 2009.

3Commencement

These Regulations come into operation on 1 February 2018.

4New regulation 23 inserted

After regulation 22 of the Serious Sex Offenders (Detention and Supervision) Regulations 2009[1] insert

23Prescribed persons allowed to operate remotely piloted aircraft or helicopter"

For the purposes of section 141A(1) of the Act, a person employed by the Department in Corrections Victoria and acting in the course of their employment is a prescribed person.".
