SENTENCING LEGISLATION AMENDMENT ACT 1997 No 5—
PROCLAMATION
(L.S.) GORDON SAMUELS, Governor.
I, the Honourable Gordon Samuels AC, Governor of the State of New South Wales, with the advice of the Executive Council, and in pursuance of section 2 of the Sentencing Legislation Amendment Act 1997, do, by this my Proclamation, appoint 20 March 1998 as the day on which that Act (other than Schedule 1 [1]-[3] and [5]-[13]) commences.

EXPLANATORY NOTE
This Proclamation commences so much of the Sentencing Legislation Amendment Act 1997:
| (a) | as amends the Children (Community Service Orders) Act 1987, the Periodic Detention of Prisoners Act 1981 and the Home Detention Act 1996, and |
| ( b ) | as amends the Community Service Orders Act 1979 with respect to work that may be performed under a community service order and with respect to civil liability arising out of work incidents. |
