Security of Critical Infrastructure (Australian National University) Rules (LIN 22/041) 2022

I, Karen Andrews, Minister for Home Affairs, under section 61 of the Security of Critical Infrastructure Act 2018 (the Act):

(a) for paragraph 9(1)(f) of the Act, prescribe an asset owned or operated by the Australian National University (ABN: 52 234 063 906) that is used in connection with the undertaking of a program of research that is critical to:

            (i)      a critical infrastructure sector (other than the higher education and research sector); or

            (ii)     the defence of Australia; or

            (iii)    national security

       as a critical infrastructure asset; and

(b) for subsection 12L(23) of the Act, prescribe the Australian National University as the responsible entity for the asset mentioned in paragraph (a).

This instrument commences on the day after registration.
