Her Excellency the Governor, with the advice of the Executive Council, has made the following Regulation under the Security Industry Act 1997.

Explanatory note
The object of this Regulation is to exempt from the application of the Security Industry Act 1997 certain persons who carry out certain supervisory duties connected with the responsible service of alcohol who might otherwise be subject to the Act as crowd controllers. This Regulation is made under the Security Industry Act 1997, including sections 6 (3) and 48 (the general regulation-making power).

1 Name of Regulation
This Regulation is the Security Industry Amendment (Exempt Persons)
Regulation 2013.
2 Commencement
This Regulation commences on the day on which it is published on the
NSW legislation website.
3 Amendment of Security Industry Regulation 2007
Schedule 1 Exempt persons
Insert at the end of the Schedule:
31 Persons who are employed or engaged for the purposes of carrying out RSA supervisory duties (within the meaning of clause 53G (5) of the Liquor Regulation 2008) on licensed premises (within the meaning of the Liquor Act 2007), but only to the extent to which the person carries out those duties and does not physically restrain or eject persons from, or prevent their entry to, such premises.
