Her Excellency the Governor, with the advice of the Executive Council, has made the following Regulation under the Security Industry Act 1997.

Explanatory note

The object of this Regulation is to exempt security staff employed by the Police Integrity Commission from the operation of the Security Industry Act 1997. The exemption applies only when security staff are carrying out duties as security staff. This Regulation is made under the Security Industry Act 1997, including section 6 (3) (which empowers the making of regulations exempting a class of persons from the operation of the Act) and section 48 (the general regulation-making power).

Commission) Regulation 2001

  1. Name of Regulation

    This Regulation is the Security Industry Amendment (Police Integrity
    Commission) Regulation 2001.

  2. Amendment of Security Industry Regulation 1998

    The Security Industry Regulation 1998 is amended by inserting after clause 5 (n):

(o)

staff employed by the Police Integrity Commission under the Police Integrity Commission Act 1996 to carry on security activities within the meaning of the Security Industry Act 1997, but only to the extent to which they carry out duties in that capacity.
