Seat of Government (Administration) (Repeal) Ordinance 1989

I, THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL of the Commonwealth of Australia, acting with the advice of the Federal Executive Council, hereby make the following Ordinance under the Seat of Government (Administration) Act 1910.

An Ordinance to repeal the Seat of Government (Administration) Ordinance 1930 consequentially upon the establishment of the Territory as a body politic under the Crown

Short title

1.  This Ordinance may be cited as the Seat of Government (Administration) (Repeal) Ordinance 1989.1

Commencement

2.  (1)  Section 1 and this section commence on the day on which this Ordinance is notified in the Gazette.

(2) The remaining provisions commence on the date of commencement of section 22 of the Australian Capital Territory (Self-Government) Act 1988 of the Commonwealth.

3.  The following Ordinances are repealed:

Saving

4.  The repeals effected by section 3 shall not be taken to affect the amendments effected by section 9 of the Seat of Government (Administration) Ordinance 1930 as in force immediately before the commencement of this Ordinance.
