Seamen's War Pensions and Allowances Act 1966 (Cth)
An
Act to amend the
[Assented to 30 September, 1966]
BE it enacted by the Queen’s Most Excellent Majesty, the Senate, and the House of Representatives of the Commonwealth of Australia, as follows:—
(2.) The
(3.) The Principal Act, as amended by this Act, may
be cited as the
(
a ) by inserting in paragraph (g )of sub-section (1.), after the word “children”, the words “under the age of twenty-one years”; and(
b )by omitting sub-section (5.) and inserting in its stead the following sub-section:—“(5.) In this section—
‘children’, in relation to an Australian mariner, means sons, daughters, step-sons, stepdaughters, adopted sons or adopted daughters of the mariner, and includes any ex-nuptial children of the mariner;
‘medical treatment’ means any treatment with a view to restoring a person to, or maintaining a person in, physical or mental health or alleviating suffering, and includes—
(
a )any accommodation, nursing care or transport in relation to such treatment; and(
b )the supply, renewal and repair of artificial replacements and surgical and other aids and appliances.”.

(2.) The Second Schedule to the Principal Act is repealed and the Schedule set out in the Second Schedule to this Act inserted in its stead.
(3.) The Fifth Schedule to the Principal Act is repealed and the Schedule set out in the Third Schedule to this Act inserted in its stead.
