1  Name          

This instrument is the Seafarers Rehabilitation and Compensation (Specified Rate per Kilometre) Instrument 2019.

2  Commencement

This instrument commences on the day after it is registered on the Federal Register of Legislation.

3  Authority

This instrument is made under subsections 28(6A), 49(6B), 50(2B), 66(4B) and 83A(5) of the Seafarers Rehabilitation and Compensation Act 1992.

4   Definitions

  In this instrument:

Act means the Seafarers Rehabilitation and Compensation Act 1992.

5  Schedule

Each instrument that is specified in Schedule 1 to this instrument is amended or repealed as set out in the applicable items in that Schedule, and any other item in that Schedule has effect according to its terms.

6  Specification

For the purposes of paragraphs 28(6A)(b), 49(6B)(b) and 50(2B)(b), and subsections 66(4B) and 83A(5), of the Act, the specified rate per kilometre on and from the date of commencement of this instrument is $0.68.
