Sea-Carriage of Goods Amendment Act 1979

An Act to amend
section 10 of the Sea-Carriage of Goods Act 1924 in consequence of
certain amendments of the Navigation Act 1912.
BE IT ENACTED by the Queen, and the Senate and the House of Representatives
of the Commonwealth of Australia, as follows:
Short title, &c.
1. (1) This Act may be cited as the Sea-Carriage
of Goods Amendment Act 1979.
(2) The Sea-Carriage of Goods Act 1924 is in this Act
referred to as the Principal Act.
Commencement
2. This Act shall come into
operation on the date of commencement of sub-section 65(1) of the Navigation
Amendment Act 1979.
Saving
3. Section 10 of the Principal Act
is amended by omitting from sub-section (1) “Division 10 of Part IV of the Navigation
Act 1912-1920” and substituting “Division 10 of Part IV, or Part VIII, of
the Navigation Act 1912”.
