Preamble.	'ITT'HEREAS by an Act passed in the forty-seventh year of Her
VV present Majesty’s reign intituled “ A n Act to authorize the

construction and maintenance of a. Tramway from the proposed Bay- street Station on the Illawarra Railway to and along Lady Robinson's Beach" Thomas Say well his heirs executors administrators and assigns were authorized to make and construct a tramway upon a certain route mentioned and described in the said Act And whereas it is necessary for the safe and convenient working of the said tramway that loop­ lines and sidings should be made for use in connection with the said tramway and the said Thomas Saywell has made a loop-line at the end

of the said tramway-lino near to tlie Illawarra Railway Line and is desirous of making other loop-lines and sidings at other paids tliereof And whereas doubts have arisen whether the said Thomas Saywell is authorized by the said Act to make such loop-lines or sidings Be it therefore enacted by the Queen’s Most Excellent Majesty by and with the advice and consent of the Legislative Council and Legislative Assembly of New South IVales in Parliament assembled and by the autliordty of the same as follows :—

2. It shall be laAvful for the said Thomas SayAvell his lieirs Legalizing clause,

executors administrators and assigns to continue maintain and from time to time to alter and repair the loop-line or siding heretofore made by the said Thomas Saywell at the end of the said tramAvay-line near to the IllaAvarra liailAiay Line in addition to tliose authorized by the previous clause and it is hereby enacted that the said Thomas SayAvell shall be deemed to have authority to make and continue the said loop­ line or siding in the same manner as if he had been expressly authorized thereto by the provisions of the said recited Act.

3. All loop-lines and sidings made or continued by the said Loop-iiucs or sidings

occupied shall not exceed twenty-one feet in breadth measured across the said tramway and loop-line or siding and such loop-line or siding shall not exceed five hundred feet in length in each instance.

4. This Act shall be styled and maybe cited as “ SayAvell’s Short tuic.
