An Act to authorize the Granting of Leases of certain Crown Land at Sandringham in the Parish of Moorabbin along Port Phillip Bay.

Preamble

WHEREAS the land shown hatched on the plan in the Schedule is partly land which is a portion of the land permanently reserved by Order in Council dated 3rd September, 1888, partly land which is a portion of the land permanently reserved by Order in Council dated 9th October, 1906 and partly unalienated land of the Crown:

AND WHEREAS it is expedient to authorize the Governor in Council to grant leases of the land so hatched for the purposes of sport and recreation and amenities connected therewith:

BE IT THEREFORE ENACTED by the Queen's Most Excellent Majesty by and with the advice and consent of the Legislative Council and the Legislative Assembly of Victoria in this present Parliament assembled and by the authority of the same as follows (that is to say):

1.Short title and commencement

(1)This Act may be cited as the Sandringham Land Act 1978.

(2)This Act shall come into operation on the day on which it receives the Royal Assent.

2.Power to Governor in Council to grant leases

Notwithstanding the provisions of section 18 of the Land Act 1958, the Governor in Council may from time to time in accordance with the provisions of section 134 of that Act grant leases of the land shown hatched on the plan in the Schedule for the purposes of sport and recreation and amenities connected therewith, including the erection of buildings.
