AN ACT to amend the Sale of Human Blood

Act, 1963.

[Assented to 1st October, 1965.]

BE it enacted by the Queen's Most ExcellentMajesty, by and with the advice and consent of the Legislative Council and the Legislative Assembly of Western Australia, in this present Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:—

Short title

1. (1) This Act may be cited as the Sale of Human

and citation.

Blood Act Amendment Act, 1965.

(2)

In this Act, the Sale of Human Blood Act,

1963, is referred to as the principal Act.

(3) The principal Act as amended by this Act may

be cited as the Sale of Human Blood Act, 1963-1965.

2. The principal Act is amended by adding, after

section one, the following section-

Interpre-

tation.

1A. In this Act, "blood" includes

(a)

any substance derived from blood; and

(b)

any organ or tissue, including the placenta, of a kind that is suitable as a source from which to derive a constituent of blood for therapeutic use or for the preparation of a substance for therapeutic use. .
