SALE OF HUMAN BLOOD.

No. 31 of 1963.
AN ACT to prohibit unauthorised Trading in
Human Blood.
[Assented to 13th November, 1963.]
BE it enacted by the Queen's Most ExcellentMajesty, by and with the advice and consent of the Legislative Council and the Legislative Assembly of Western Australia, in this present Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:—
Short title

Buying of
| human | 2. (1) Subject to this section, a person shall not |

(a) human blood; or
| (b) | the right to take blood from the body of another person. |

Penalty: Two hundred pounds or imprisonment for six months or both.
(2) Where he considers it desirable by reason of special circumstances so to do, the Minister may, by order in writing, authorise a person, subject to such conditions and restrictions as are specified in the order, to buy human blood; and nothing in subsection (1) of this section applies to anything done subject to, and in accordance with, an authority given under this subsection.

an advertisement relating to the buying in Austra- lia of human blood or of the right to take blood from the bodies of persons, unless the proposed advertise- ment has been approved by the Minister and contains a statement to that effect.
Penalty: One hundred pounds or imprisonment for three months or both.
4. (1) Subject to this section, a person shall not Selling of

Penalty: Fifty pounds.
(2) Nothing in subsection (1) of this section applies to a sale or agreement to sell to a person who is, or is reasonably believed by the vendor to be, acting subject to, and in accordance with, an authority under section two of this Act.
