Sale of Hazardous Goods (Expandable Toys) Order 2008

The Products Safety Committee makes the following order under section 8 of the Sale of Hazardous Goods Act 1977 .

1Short titleThis order may be cited as the Sale of Hazardous Goods (Expandable Toys) Order 2008 . 2CommencementThis order takes effect on the day on which its making is notified in the Gazette. 3InterpretationIn this order – expandable toy means a toy that – (a) when sold is of a size that, when tested in accordance with clause 5.2 of the Safety of Toys Standard, fits entirely into the small parts cylinder shown in that clause; and (b) is designed to expand when immersed in liquid; Safety of Toys Standard means the Australian / New Zealand Standard AS/NZS ISO 8124.1:2002 entitled "Safety of toys – Part 1: Safety aspects related to mechanical and physical properties" as in force on the day this order takes effect. 4Sale of expandable toys prohibitedA person must not sell an expandable toy.
