Sale of Hazardous Goods (Baby Bath Aids, Basketball Rings and Backboards and Moveable Soccer Goals) Order 2006

The Products Safety Committee makes the following order under section 8 of the Sale of Hazardous Goods Act 1977 .

1Short titleThis order may be cited as the Sale of Hazardous Goods (Baby Bath Aids, Basketball Rings and Backboards and Moveable Soccer Goals) Order 2006 . 2CommencementThis order takes effect on the day on which its making is notified in the Gazette. 3InterpretationIn this order – baby bath aid means a device designed to support a baby while the baby is being bathed; baby bath aid consumer product safety standard means the consumer product safety standard prescribed for baby bath aids by the Trade Practices (Consumer Product Safety Standard) (Baby Bath Aids) Regulations 2005 of the Commonwealth; basketball ring and backboard consumer product safety standard means the consumer product safety standard prescribed for basketball rings and basketball backboards by the Trade Practices (Consumer Product Safety Standard) (Basketball Rings and Backboards) Regulations 2005 of the Commonwealth; moveable soccer goal means a freestanding structure consisting of at least two upright posts, a crossbar and support bars that is designed – (a) to be used by adults or children for the purposes of a soccer goal; and (b) to be used without any other form of support or restraint (other than pegs, stakes or other forms of temporary anchoring device); and (c) to be able to be moved to different locations; moveable soccer goal product safety standard means the product safety standard prescribed for moveable soccer goals by Division 20 of the Fair Trading (General) Regulation 2002 of New South Wales. 4Condition on sale of baby bath aidsA person must not sell a baby bath aid unless the baby bath aid and the packaging in which it is supplied comply with the baby bath aid consumer product safety standard. 5Condition on sale of basketball rings and backboardsA person must not sell a basketball ring or basketball backboard unless the ring or backboard complies with the basketball ring and backboard consumer product safety standard. 6Condition on sale of moveable soccer goalsA person must not sell a moveable soccer goal unless the moveable soccer goal – (a) complies with the moveable soccer goal product safety standard; or (b) weighs less than 28.25 kilograms when weighed with all attachments (other than pegs, stakes or other forms of temporary anchoring device) using a commercially available scale; or (c) is designed for indoor use only.
