I, JULIA GILLARD, Minister for Employment and Workplace Relations, make this Notice under subsection 16(6) of the Safety, Rehabilitation and Compensation Act 1988.

1.         Name of Notice

This Notice is the Safety, Rehabilitation and Compensation (Specified Rate        per Kilometre) Notice 2008 (3).

2.         Commencement

This Notice commences on the later of:

(a)        1 July 2008; or

(b)        the day after it is registered on the Federal Register of Legislative    Instruments.

3.         Declaration

For paragraph 16(6)(c) of the Safety, Rehabilitation and Compensation Act 1988,    I specify that the rate per kilometre to apply for the purposes of subsection 16(6) are those rates specified in column 1 of the Schedule appearing opposite the dates in column 2.

4.         Revocation

I revoke the Safety, Rehabilitation and Compensation (Specified Rate per          Kilometre) Notice 2005 (1).
