An Act to amend the Safety, Rehabilitation and Compensation Act 1988, and for related purposes

The Parliament of Australia enacts:

1Short title

This Act may be cited as the Safety, Rehabilitation and Compensation Amendment Act 2010.

2Commencement

This Act commences on the day this Act receives the Royal Assent.

3Schedule(s)

Each Act that is specified in a Schedule to this Act is amended or repealed as set out in the applicable items in the Schedule concerned, and any other item in a Schedule to this Act has effect according to its terms.

Schedule 1Amendments

Safety, Rehabilitation and Compensation Act 1988

Section 100

Before “If”, insert “(1)”.

At the end of section 100

Add:

1. (2)

   However, the Minister is not required to consider a request for a declaration under subsection (1).

Application

The amendment made by item 2 applies in relation to requests made before, on or after the time at which that item commences.
