Safety in Recreational Water Activities (Code of Practice) Notice 2022
1 Short title
This notice may be cited as the Safety in Recreational Water Activities (Code of Practice) Notice 2022.
2 Commencement
This notice commences on 1 August 2022.
3 Definitions
The dictionary in schedule 2 defines particular words used in this notice.
4 Approved code of practice
The code of practice mentioned in schedule 1 is an approved code of practice that—(a)was approved by the ministerial instrument mentioned in schedule 1 for the code of practice; and(b)commenced on the date mentioned in schedule 1 for the code of practice.Notes—
1The approval of the code of practice was notified under the Safety in Recreational Water Activities (Codes of Practice) Notice 2011, repealed under section 5.2Under section 43(5) of the Act, the code of practice expires 10 years after its commencement.3A copy of the code of practice is available on Workplace Health and Safety Queensland’s website and at the places mentioned in section 43(7) of the Act.
4A Revocation of approved code of practice
If the entry in schedule 1A for an approved code of practice states that the code of practice has been revoked by a ministerial instrument stated in the entry—(a)the code of practice was revoked by the ministerial instrument stated in the entry; and(b)the inclusion of the revocation in schedule 1A is notice for the purposes of section 43(2) of the Act that the ministerial instrument stated in the entry revoking the code of practice has been made by the Minister.
5 Repeal
The Safety in Recreational Water Activities (Codes of Practice) Notice 2011, SL No. 261 is repealed.

ministerial instrument means an instrument made by the Minister under section 43 of the Actto—
(a)approve a code of practice; or
(b)revoke an approved code of practice.
