A]NT ORDINANCE

To amend the Rural Workers Accommodation

Ordinance 1938-1942.

1.— (1.) This Ordinance may be cited as the Rural Workers short title

Accommodation Ordinance 1951.* and citation.

(2.) The Rural Workers Accommodation Ordinance 1938-1942

is in this Ordinance referred to as the Principal Ordinance.

(3.) The Principal Ordinance, as amended by this Ordinance,

may be cited as the Rural Workers Accommodation Ordinance
193S-1951.

2. Section three of the Principal Ordinance is amended by Definitions

inserting before the definition of " Agricultural occupation " the

following definition:—

"'Accommodation' includes buildings, equipment and
facilities for use in connexion with accommodation or

with the supply, preparation or consumption of meals;".

3. Section six of the Principal Ordinance is amended— Accommodation
3705/50.—PEICB 3D.
I to be provided.

(a) by omitting paragraphs (b) and (c) of sub-section (2.)

and inserting in their stead the following

paragraphs:—

" (b) there is provided for eacli person in each sleeping compartmeDt not less than four hundred and thirty cubic feet of air space measured below a height of eight feet above the surface of the floor;

" ( c ) beds, bedding and furniture for sleeping
compartments are provided as prescribed;
" (ca) kitchen and cooking utensils and equipment

and eating utensils are provided as

prescribed;

" (cb) the accommodation is in accordance with the requirements of the regulations, and is equipped and used as prescribed; and " ;

(b) by omitting from paragraph (e) of sub-section (2.) the word " no " and inserting in its stead the words " except as prescribed, no ";

(c) by omitting paragraphs (ja), (jb) and (jc) of sub-

section (2.) ;

(d) by omitting paragraph (m) of sub-section (2.) and

inserting in its stead the following paragraph:—

" (m) a sufficient supply of good drinking water

is provided; " ; and I

(e) by omitting paragraph (p) of sub-section (2.).
